Jimmy Kimmel Jokes Elon Musk Will Use His Government Power To Decide Which “Elected Officials Get To Wake Up Christmas Morning”

Elon Musk may have cushy new job in Donald Trump‘s administration co-leading the Department of Government Efficiency with former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, but Jimmy Kimmel thinks the tech billionaire has something else up his sleeve.

After calling the duo the “Lenny and Squiggy of Trumptown,” Kimmel explained that Musk and Ramaswamy were visiting Washington, D.C., for meetings regarding their plans for the DOGE.

“We don’t know all that happened in the meeting, we can assume that there were a lot of missed high fives,” Kimmel joked.

However, he noted that Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told reports that Musk claimed he would “be putting lawmakers on a naughty list and a nice list.”

“Nothing to worry about,” Kimmel said with a laugh. “Just a foreign born billionaire deciding which of our elected officials get to wake up Christmas morning and which don’t.”

Kimmel then proceeded to blast the new so-called department Musk was heading up, noting the group “has no power to make laws, to cut budget or to do anything.”

“It’s like when you’re a kid and you visit the cockpit and you get a set of wings. It doesn’t mean you get to fly the plane,” Kimmel pointed out, prompting laughter from the audience.

The late night host has criticized Musk for cozying up to Trump during his presidency. So much so, he even joked that Melania Trump should watch out for her new competition.

“Trump’s got a new squeeze named Elonia Musk,” he joked.

He also pointed out that Musk has been helping Trump appoint “comic book villains to run the government.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
