Man allegedly called 911 17 times for a ride to NJ Wawa

This guy gave new meaning to the slogan “Gottahava Wawa.”

Police in East Windsor, N.J., arrested a 24-year-old man on Dec. 23, and charged him with misusing the town’s 911 system for allegedly calling emergency dispatchers a total of 17 times.

Rather than take an Uber, Adam Vaughn allegedly wanted the town cops to personally shuttle him back and forth to the nearest Wawa — the popular convenience store — in neighboring Hightstown.

That wasn’t going to happen.

Instead, East Windsor police personally visited Vaughn at the Windsor Hotel where he was staying, and warned him to stop making the calls.

The warning came after Vaughn’s first few attempts.

Calling 911, police informed him, was for emergencies only.

But the warning went in one ear and out the other — as Vaughn allegedly kept peppering 911 with calls.

He was ultimately placed in handcuffs after making his 17th plea for a police escort.

In addition to misusing 911, Vaughn received a criminal summons for obstruction.
