From holiday-themed specials to the return of some fan-favorite shows, all of the major streamers have bestowed some wonderful gifts upon us all. New episodes of Squid Game are here, and a brand new Doctor Who special arrived, giving us plenty to watch as we loll around in our PJs for the weekend.

New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Squid Game, The Flipping El Moussas, Doctor Who: Joy To The World + More
One of Netflix’s biggest shows of the past few years, Squid Game, is back for a second deadly season. The South Korean series dropped all seven episodes on Thursday. Also back this week is the HGTV/Max series The Flipping El Moussas, in which the home renovating couple tackles some of their biggest house flips to date. And on Disney+, the Doctor is in… Doctor Who that is. A new Christmas special called Joy To The World arrived earlier this week.
New on Netflix December 26: Squid Game (Season 2)
Squid Game was a global sensation when it dropped all the way back in 2021, and now the second season is finally here. In the new episodes, Player 456, Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) has returned to play another round of the game show with deadly consequences, but this time, he’s planning to end the games, as long as he can survive them. If you’re obsessed with the show, you can also check out a new season of Squid Game: The Official Podcast which also dropped on Dec. 26.
Doctor Who is back for yet another holiday special this year, and the real gift is the pairing of Ncuti Gatwa and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan in the Christmas-themed Doctor Who: Joy To The World, which dropped on December 25. In this episode, Coughlan stars as a new character named Joy who opens a secret doorway to the Time Hotel and has a chance encounter with the Doctor. Expect some heartstrings to be tugged in this one.
As we head into a new year, and start making resolutions and life changes, perhaps you’ll want some design inspiration from HGTV legends Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa, who are back with a new season of their latest show, The Flipping El Moussas, where they attempt to renovate some of the grimiest, filthiest houses of their careers. The show had its TV premiere on December 26, and will start streaming on Max December 27.
