Yankees trade for closer Devin Williams in stunner

The Yankees aren’t done making a splash.

The Bombers are finalizing a trade with the Brewers to bring star closer Devin Williams to The Bronx, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed Friday.

Nestor Cortes and Caleb Durbin are headed to Milwaukee to complete the deal.

It’s the latest move made by the Yankees, who have come out blazing after losing out on the Juan Soto sweepstakes to the cross-borough rival Mets.

They’ve signed starter Max Fried to an eight-year, $218 million deal and are rumored to be among the teams competing for the services of free-agent first baseman Christian Walker, along with discussing trades for Cubs outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger and Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker.

The Yankees are also expected to be part of the Roki Sasaki proceedings to bring the Japanese ace stateside.

Williams, 30, is coming off an injury-shortened 2024, but will bolster a bullpen that saw reliever Clay Holmes head to Queens to be a starter and Luke Weaver emerge as a closing threat.
